Recognizing that health is integral for quality of life, GMRVF works towards providing quality healthcare facilities in areas that do not have them. Through its healthcare institutions and facilities, the Foundation strives to make healthcare both accessible and affordable.
To make quality healthcare more accessible to under-privileged communities, GMR Varalakshmi CARE Hospital has devised a concession policy. A social worker placed at the Hospital interacts with the patients who make an application for concessions for treatment, and makes an assessment based on laid out criteria, as to whether the patient is really needy. Concessions are given based on this.
In addition to these concessions, GMRV CARE Hospital also issues Patient Concession Cards (PCC) to poor families in and around Rajam, based on which free outpatient services and a 20% concession on all Hospital services are provided to the patients. Over the last 7 years, Foundations supported about 35,000 poor patients with concessions.
