Gifted Children Scheme

The Scheme was launched in 2001 seeks to identify, encourage, and financially support the education of meritorious students from underprivileged families to enable them to realize their full potential. Over 250 students are being supported in different locations. These students are sponsored to attend quality English Medium schools and their complete educational expenses are borne by the Foundation from Std. I till they get their first job.

Highlights

GMRVF meets the complete educational expenses of these children.

Children from the disadvantaged socio-economic background are selected on their academic potential.

Foundation supports all the education-related expenses. Further, Foundation also conducts after-school tuitions, organizes exposure visits, vacation classes etc. to provide additional academic support to these children.

Counseling is also conducted regularly for children and their parents. Employees of the GMR Group Companies generously contribute for sponsoring these children.

The initial batch students are currently pursuing higher and professional educational courses. a Gifted Child from the first batch has received job offer from a reputed IT firm. One of the students under the Scheme was selected for Community College Initiative Program of US Department of State.

Mamatha -A Gifted Child!

Mamatha's family supported GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd by giving 2 acres of land and a house during land acquisition. Her father Anjaneyulu is a differently-abled person and runs a petty shop at home while her mother works as a wage laborer. Mamatha was elected under Gifted Children program by GMRVF for supporting her education at quality schools.
Accordingly, Mamatha was admitted in GMR Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Shamshabad when she was in Std. III. She is now in Std. IX. "Initially I felt nervous at the school as I was unable to follow English which teachers and other students spoke, but the teachers and GMRVF staff supported me to overcome my inhibitions and made me self-confident" she says. Mamatha excels in academics and is also good at painting and sports. She aspires to become an IAS Officer and serve the poor and needy!
